The studios, now owned by Microsoft, have accumulated an impressive list of iconic games that have not been released on Steam. In recent years, the American corporation has been turning the Xbox brand into a kind of publishing label and betting on multiplatform. Reputable insider Jez Corden is confident that as part of Microsoft's new strategy, the situation may be corrected and the famous titles will finally be released on Steam.

What is known

In his piece on Windows Central, Corden shared information that Microsoft plans to release many PC games on Steam and is already preparing for a number of major announcements.

This step could be truly historic, as even mega-hits like Minecraft and World of Warcraft could appear in the most popular digital store.

Overall, according to Corden, the following games could be released on Steam:

  • Fable 3
  • Minecraft
  • Prey (2006) (previously removed from Steam)
  • Wolfenstein (2009) (previously removed from Steam)
  • Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
  • Diablo 1-3
  • World of Warcraft
  • Starcraft 1-2
  • Warcraft 1-3
  • Crackdown 3
  • Gears 4
  • Halo Wars 2.

In addition, there are rumors that Xbox Game Pass subscription may be added to Steam, but it is not yet clear how this will be implemented.
