Apple has updated the tool for ordering Mac computers in its online store. Now users can manually choose the device specifications.

What is known

As noted in MacWorld, the approach has changed: instead of ready-made options, the client configures all parameters themselves. Among the options are choosing the color, display, chip, amount of RAM, storage, and power adapter. In addition, it is possible to add pre-installed applications, including Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro.

MacWorld also reports that the interface update may be related to the preparation for the launch of new MacBook Pros. Rumor has it that Apple plans to offer models based on M5 Pro and M5 Max chips with the possibility of choosing the number of CPU and GPU cores.

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman points out that the release of new laptops may occur along with the macOS 26.3 update, expected between February and March.
