AMD Head: The next-generation Xbox console will be ready for release in 2027
Microsoft has not yet announced the release dates for the next-generation Xbox console, but unexpectedly, this information was revealed by AMD's CEO Lisa Su.
What is known
During a conversation with investors following the results of the fourth quarter of 2025, the head of AMD stated that "the development of the next-generation custom processor for Xbox is going well and will allow the console to be released in 2027."
It is likely implied that AMD will complete its part of the work by the specified period, but this does not guarantee that Microsoft's plans align with such a schedule. Moreover, analysts agree that against the backdrop of memory shortages, the American corporation, like Sony, may postpone the launch of their new consoles to 2028-29.
Recall, it was AMD that created processors for Xbox One and Xbox Series, and in June 2025, the companies officially announced an agreement for the supply of chips for next-generation Xbox consoles.
According to unofficial information, the new Xbox will resemble a compact PC more than a console — gamers will be given a wide space for personalization and will also open the platform for third-party stores, such as Steam or EGS.
