The IGN portal published a new exclusive gameplay trailer for the stylish shooter MOUSE: P.I. for Hire. This time it is dedicated to not general mechanics and plot setup, but to a battle with one of the bosses.

What is Known

In the footage shown, the main character Mouse: P.I. For Hire, private detective Jack Pepper, voiced by gaming industry star Troy Baker, comes to the cemetery in the town of Spooky Village (of course, on a full moon), where he must fight a boss called Third Wife.

The restless spirit mistakes the protagonist for her hateful husband and attacks him, summoning cartoon skeletons for help. It turns out that firearms do not damage the ghost, and to win, you need to periodically shine a flashlight on it (the authors were probably inspired by Alan Wake).

It might seem unexpected, but the gameplay of MOUSE: P.I. for Hire resembles the latest parts of DOOM: the hero is highly mobile, can perform several dashes in a row, has a large selection of weapons, and there are many platforms and additional tiles on the locations that allow for quick spatial repositioning.

Recall, Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a noir game from the Polish indie studio Fumi Games, executed in the visual aesthetic of 1930s Disney cartoons.

In the shooter, classic American animation is harmoniously combined with a dark story about corruption, organized crime, and the personal demons of detective Jack Pepper. The style and plot of Mouse: P.I. for Hire is perfectly complemented by jazz music characteristic of the 30s.

When to Expect

The release of Mouse: P.I. For Hire will take place on March 19, 2026, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
