Volkswagen ID. Buzz has received a partition that turns the minivan into a van (almost)
Volkswagen introduced a new factory partition for the passenger ID. Buzz. It separates the second row of seats from the cargo area, thus turning the model into something between a minivan and a van.
What is known
The design was developed in conjunction with Snoeks Automotive. The partition is installed right behind the second row of seats in the five-seat versions of the ID. Buzz. This feature allows for transporting passengers and designating separate space for cargo.
Unlike the commercial ID Buzz Cargo with metal sides, this configuration retains the passenger body and glazing. However, the solid partition allows loading items up to the roof level without affecting the cabin. In addition, it reduces the penetration of noise and dirt into the passenger area.

A small window is built into the partition to maintain rearward visibility, and the reduced cabin volume can improve climate control efficiency, which is especially relevant for an electric vehicle.
This option may interest private owners and small businesses that occasionally need cargo space without switching to a fully commercial version.
The partition is made of lightweight composite material and equipped with a built-in compartment at the bottom for storing the charging cable. Volkswagen clarifies that the seat belts and side airbags for the second row retain full functionality. The system is available for short and long wheelbase versions. Prices are currently announced only for the German market, starting at 1,856 euros.
