THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have revealed the release date of the long-awaited remake of the cult RPG Gothic.

What is known

So, Gothic Remake will be released on June 5 on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

The developers explained the release delay with the familiar phrase of "striving for perfection":

The Alkimia Interactive team spent hundreds of hours refining every detail to truly bring the Valley of Mines to life. <…> This title is a tribute and a love letter to the Gothic universe and its community. It was important for us to pay close attention to every nuance, every hidden corner of the world, so that the final result feels truly like Gothic.

Initially, the public was skeptical about the idea of a Gothic remake and harshly criticized the first playable teaser, but the latest demo version, which is still available on Steam, is receiving excellent reviews and gives hope that the famous game will receive a worthy reincarnation.
