Xiaomi officially announced its new robotic platform, Xiaomi Robotics 0, which consists of two independent blocks and is meant to be the foundation for future generations of the brand's smart robots. The development combines advanced AI algorithms, sensory systems, and modular architecture, allowing for the creation of more flexible and autonomous devices.

The system, with 4.7 billion parameters, is built on the VLA (vision-language-action) principle— the robot sees the task, understands the user's language and voice request, and proceeds to execute.

What is known about Xiaomi Robotics 0

  • Advanced navigation: the system uses combined depth sensors, lidars, and cameras for precise spatial orientation.
  • New level of interaction: the platform supports natural gestures, voice commands, and adaptive behavior.
  • Modularity: the manufacturer emphasizes the possibility of expansion—from household assistants to specialized service robots.
  • Integration with the Xiaomi ecosystem: Robotics 0 will work in conjunction with the smart home, smartphones, and cloud services of the company.
  • Open source code: developers and startups can make their adjustments to improve the robot's efficiency and adapt it to a wider range of tasks.

Robotics-0 demonstrated high performance in LIBERO, CALVIN, and SimplerEnv tests, as well as successfully handled practical tasks on a two-handed platform—from folding towels to working with blocks.

Xiaomi takes the first step into the large-scale robotics segment, where it plans to gradually take a leading position. Robotics 0 is the foundation upon which the company can build an entire line of intelligent devices capable of performing complex tasks in real-time.

The first products based on Robotics 0 are expected in the coming months. Xiaomi promises that they will combine high autonomy, safety, and affordability, which is a traditional approach for the brand.
