Snapchat announced the launch of paid subscriptions for creator profiles. The new feature will operate similarly to Instagram. The platform will allow creators to offer paid access to exclusive materials and additional privileges for subscribers.

What is known

Users who subscribe will gain access to exclusive content in Snaps and Stories, priority responses from creators, and the ability to view stories without ads. The company notes that the tool is designed to give creators more freedom to experiment and create a stable source of regular income.

Creators will be able to set the price of their monthly subscription themselves, based on Snapchat's recommended pricing tiers. This way, authors will get a flexible monetization mechanism and the ability to adapt the model to their audience.

Starting February 23, subscriptions will be available to creators in the United States. iOS users will be able to subscribe directly in the app. In the coming weeks, the feature is planned to be expanded to Canada, France, and the United Kingdom.
