Completing Resident Evil Requiem will take about fifty hours — the largest game in the franchise

Next week, Resident Evil Requiem will be released — a game that attracts huge attention and has all the chances to become one of the most successful parts of the iconic zombie horror series.

Requiem will offer two types of gameplay, two camera options, and two protagonists — all to ensure the novelty appeals to the widest possible audience.

As it turned out, this approach by Capcom is also reflected in the duration of the game.

The portal Insider Gaming gathered several developer statements and information from other sources to find out how long it will take to complete Resident Evil Requiem.

It turned out that those who only want to know the end of the main storyline and complete a few additional tasks will spend 10-15 hours in the game, which is comparable to most Resident Evil parts.

However, to complete the horror "100%", discover all the secrets, collect collectible items and unlock alternative endings (if provided), it will take 40-50 hours, and in this case, Requiem becomes the largest game in the franchise (excluding multiplayer and cooperative).

For those who are not aware

Resident Evil Requiem will focus on FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and fan-favorite Leon Kennedy — an agent of the anti-bioterrorism organization. Episodes with Grace resemble RE7 and are based on the principle of classic survival horror: the heroine practically does not know how to use weapons, gets tired quickly and cannot withstand many monster attacks, preferring to hide from them, but can stand up for herself if necessary.

Episodes with Leon are more like action and may remind you of Resident Evil IV, where Kennedy was the central character. He is an experienced and well-trained fighter who has no difficulty fighting even the most dangerous creatures. To make the game even more interesting, Requiem has added more brutal finishers, which depend on the weapon chosen. The DSO agent can use various items in the fight against mutants, including a chainsaw and a hatchet.

The release of Resident Evil Requiem will take place on February 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.
