Polestar is preparing a surprise: an electric station wagon for the mass market
After a record 2025, Polestar is launching the largest model lineup update: over three years, the company will present four new models. An unexpected novelty will be the new version of Polestar 4.
What is known
Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller stated that by the end of the year, Polestar 4 will receive a new modification. The model will combine the spaciousness of a station wagon, the practicality of an SUV, and the characteristic dynamics of Polestar.
Conceptually, the car resembles the Volvo V60 Cross Country, but in a fully electric configuration. At the same time, the company does not directly confirm that it is a station wagon — the appearance of a crossover with a sporty profile and protective plastic trim is not excluded.
The teaser images show the rear window and roof rails. This is important because the standard Polestar 4 does not have a rear window — a camera is used instead, displaying the image on a digital mirror.
Production of the new version will be established in South Korea. The premiere will take place this year, and deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter.
Brand plans
In 2025, Polestar achieved a record 60,119 cars sold, which is 34% more than the previous year. In 2026, the company expects sales growth at a low double-digit percentage and a 30% expansion of the dealership network.

In the summer, deliveries of Polestar 5 will begin in Europe. In 2027, the new generation Polestar 2 will debut, and in 2028, the compact SUV Polestar 7 will be released.
