Spotify announced a new integration with the ticket marketplace SeatGeek, which will allow fans to quickly find and purchase tickets to their favorite artists' concerts directly through the streaming app.

What is known

From now on, users will see information about ticket sales for performances by artists they follow if the event takes place at venues participating in the partner program.

The integration currently covers a limited number of locations. It concerns only those venues where SeatGeek is the primary ticket sales operator. Currently, these are 15 partner arenas in the USA, mainly large sports stadiums, including ATT Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Despite SeatGeek being one of the largest players in the secondary ticket market, this collaboration specifically involves primary sales at designated venues. Spotify users will be redirected to the SeatGeek platform to complete their purchase.

Spotify previously tested its own direct ticket sales tools but later shifted focus to partner integrations. Today, the service collaborates with 46 ticket operators, including Ticketmaster and AXS. Moreover, the app allows users to subscribe not only to artists but also to concert venues to receive notifications about upcoming events.

The platform, which has about 750 million active users monthly, has recently been actively expanding its functionality by adding new social and informational features for listeners.
