Meta simplifies integration between its social networks: now posts from Threads can be published in Instagram Stories without leaving the app. The new feature was launched to more actively engage Instagram's audience with its service, which competes with X.

What is known

From now on, users can share a post from Threads in their Instagram Story without transitioning to another app. A preview of how the Story will look is displayed directly in the Threads interface. Previously, the service already allowed sharing posts in the Instagram feed or via private messages, but this required switching between platforms.

Threads, launched in July 2023, quickly gained an audience due to its close integration with Instagram. Registration took place through an account that automatically transferred the username, profile photo, bio, verification, and subscription list. With one click, you could subscribe to the same accounts as in Instagram.

Meta continues to promote Threads through its larger platforms. Popular posts appear on Facebook, and Instagram adds carousels with social network recommendations.

According to Similarweb, last month Threads already surpassed X in terms of daily mobile activity, although X retains leadership in the web version. The number of monthly users of Threads grew from 200 million in August 2024 to 400 million in August 2025. In October, Meta also announced 150 million daily active users.
