It seems that the once popular crime action series Saints Row still has no chance of a comeback.

Recall, in November 2025, one of the creators of the franchise and veteran of the closed studio Volition, Chris Stockman, reported that he had an idea for a Saints Row prequel, the events of which would unfold in the 1970s atmosphere with afros, street fashion, characteristic music, and would show the youth of the first members of the Saints gang.

The author stated that he was contacted by representatives of Embracer Group, who showed interest in such a game, but unfortunately, it ended there.

What is known

During communication with subscribers on Discord, Chris Stockman stated that the situation with Saints Row is hopeless: Embracer Group is not reaching out, ignoring all his appeals, and not showing serious intentions for collaboration.

To be honest, I think the franchise is dead, unfortunately. I have the feeling that Embracer is completely unable to do anything about it. I wish it were different. I tried to offer them something, but they just ignore me.

Recall, the last game in the Saints Row series was the 2022 reboot with new characters and a modern setting, but it was criticized for boring gameplay, unremarkable characters, and the complete lack of sharp satire inherent in the original parts of the series.
