The story about Steam Deck supply issues continues.

In early February, the popular gadget disappeared from sale in the US for several days, after which Valve informed that this could become normal and such a situation could arise in different regions.

What is Known

Well, in just a few days the deficit turned global.

At the moment, on the official Steam Deck page, the console cannot be purchased in Europe, the US, Canada, and Japan, in all configurations.

The only reason for the absence of the Steam Deck on digital shelves is the acute shortage of RAM chips. A real battle has unfolded over them between AI giants and electronics manufacturers, and chip prices are rising every day.

The current situation directly affects the release dates and cost of the Steam Machine console and the Steam Frame VR headset. Valve planned to release them in the first quarter of 2026, but the situation is changing so rapidly that the company might be forced to adjust its plans.
