Insider: Call of Duty runs great on Nintendo Switch 2 — one of the series' games is already preparing for release on the hybrid console
In 2023, Microsoft and Activision Blizzard committed to porting Call of Duty franchise games to Nintendo Switch (2). So far, no shooter has made it to the popular hybrid console, but a reputable insider shared optimistic information on this matter.
What is known
In a recent episode of the XB2 podcast, Windows Central Senior Editor Jez Corden reported that Activision is currently testing one of the Call of Duty series on Nintendo Switch 2, and the game shows excellent results in terms of performance and graphics quality.
However, the journalist does not have information on which of the shooters will be the first to launch on Switch, but suggests it could be the "latest game." This wording could equally refer to the failed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (2025) or the new part coming out this fall that could immediately be available on Switch 2.
Corden emphasized that Call of Duty will definitely reach Switch 2, as contractual obligations will not allow Microsoft to revise their plans.
The insider promises to look into the situation further and will provide more information soon.
