Chinese brand iQOO has introduced the iQOO 15R smartphone, which has become the most affordable device in the lineup, while retaining the key features of the higher-end models.

What is known

The smartphone features a 6.59” AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz, with a peak brightness reaching an impressive 5000 nits, making the screen comfortable even under direct sunlight.

The gadget is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, complemented by the proprietary SuperComputing Chip Q2 accelerator, which ensures stable gaming at up to 144 FPS. LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.1 memory configuration is responsible for the speed of operation, accelerating application launches and increasing overall system responsiveness.
In the AnTuTu 11 test, the device scores over 3.5 million points, making it one of the fastest sub-flagships on the market.

One of the key advantages of the iQOO 15R is its autonomy: the smartphone is equipped with a 7600 mAh battery and supports 100W charging, which allows for a quick recharge. A large IceCore VC vapor chamber with an area of 6500 mm² is used for cooling, reducing heat during extended gaming sessions.

The main camera is represented by a 50 MP Sony LYT-700 sensor with optical stabilization, ensuring clear shots even in challenging lighting conditions, as well as an 8 MP ultra-wide module. The 32 MP front camera ensures high-quality selfies and video calls. The iQOO 15R supports 4K/60 FPS video recording with stabilization.

The novelty runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and will receive four years of OS updates and six years of security patches.

The iQOO 15R is offered in two color options: Dark Knight and Triumph Silver, with the thickness of the first being 7.9 mm compared to 8.1 mm for the second.

Currently available for pre-order only in India at a price starting from $500 (converted from rupees) for the 8GB + 256GB variant to $585 for the 12GB + 512GB version.
