In the new Galaxy S26 lineup, Samsung focused on software updates and artificial intelligence features. Some new solutions replicate features that previously appeared on Google Pixel smartphones. They are integrated into the One UI shell and standard applications.

What is known

The Samsung Gallery app now features a built-in automatic screenshot categorization function, similar to Pixel Screenshots. The system analyzes the image context and adds tags: receipts, coupons, tickets, routes, and other categories. Unlike the implementation on Pixel, the new function works without a separate app and is available in the screenshots folder.

Also, Gallery added Private Album, analogous to Locked Folder in Google Photos. Users can hide photos and videos without creating separate folders and without mandatory linking to a Samsung account.

The Creative Studio function, based on Gemini, repeats the idea of Pixel Studio. You can describe the desired image with text or draw a sketch using the S Pen, after which artificial intelligence will create a finished picture according to the specified parameters.

The updated Magic Cue function, which is a development of Now Nudge, displays relevant information during communication, including locations, phone numbers, or travel photos. Unlike Pixel, it supports third-party apps, including WhatsApp.

Additionally, Galaxy S26 introduces the Call Screening feature for the first time, allowing filtering of unknown calls with real-time text transcription of the conversation.

The cost of the Galaxy S26 starts from $900, the Plus version from $1,100, and Ultra from $1,300. The smartphones are already available for pre-order.
