These cubes can surprise: the cinematic trailer and gameplay footage of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight leave no doubt about the epic nature of the game
Warner Bros. Games and Traveller's Tales studio have presented the cinematic trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight — the new and biggest installment in the series, which humorously portrays the traditionally dark stories of Batman's confrontation with Gotham City's (Gotham) cunning criminals.
What is known
This time, the authors showed how the Joker and his gang penetrate the city’s guarded museum to steal valuable exhibits, but as always, their plans are thwarted by the Dark Knight who engages in a fierce battle with them.
Of course, as is expected from a LEGO game, all violence is depicted in an exaggerated and humorous manner.
It should be noted that in the new game, the authors will combine plots and characters from numerous films, series, and games about the legendary Dark Knight to recreate Batman's entire journey from when he first started fighting crime to becoming the hero of Gotham and the bane of the most treacherous Supervillains.
The authors of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will try to maintain a balance between light and slightly humorous storytelling and the dark atmosphere of Christopher Nolan's (Christopher Nolan) films.
In terms of combat system and overall gameplay, the new game resembles the Batman: Arkham trilogy, but due to its setting and low age rating, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is slightly simplified.
Interestingly, players can take control of not only Batman but also any of the six other characters: Jim Gordon, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul — each with unique gadgets and fighting styles, and you can move freely throughout the city.
When to expect
The release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will take place on May 29 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.
