MINI Cooper S and Cooper JCW receive GP Inspired Edition
MINI has fully unveiled the special GP Inspired Edition series in Japan. These are not full GP versions but stylistically refined modifications with John Cooper Works accessories. Two models are available: the five-door Cooper S (F65) and the three-door John Cooper Works (F66).
What's known
Both models are painted in Legend Grey with a Chili Red roof and mirror housings. Additionally, there are decorative stripes and original stickers depicting race tracks on the rear pillar. The JCW external package includes aerodynamic elements, including small overlays in front of the wheel arches. A large spoiler is mounted on the roof.
The cars are equipped with 18-inch two-tone JCW wheels with red caps. The package also includes factory tinting of the rear windows and the Driving Assistant Plus package.
The interior features illuminated door sill trims and a black headliner. The interior is designed in a dark color scheme. The front seats have electric adjustments, and the driver's seat is additionally equipped with a massage function. The GP Inspired branding is even present on the key cover and floor mats.
The technical part has not changed. Both versions retain the 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine and the seven-speed robotic gearbox with dual-clutch. The Cooper S features a 201 hp and 300 Nm BMW B48 engine, while the JCW develops 228 hp and 380 Nm. The drive is exclusively front-wheel.
In Japan, 145 units of the Cooper S (F65) will be sold at a price starting from 5,870,000 yen (37,500 US dollars). The JCW version (F66) is limited to 45 cars and costs from 6,060,000 yen (38,800 US dollars).
