Xiaomi released flagship tablets Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro to the global market, which debuted in China in October 2025 and are an excellent compromise in terms of price-quality ratio.
What is known
The presentation of the tablets took place as part of the international exhibition MWC 2026 simultaneously with the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphone line.
It should be noted that the global versions of the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are completely identical to the Chinese counterparts. The tablets offer high performance and impressive multifunctionality, which allows them to replace a laptop.
The main difference between the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro is their processors: the top-end Pro model received a powerful Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition chipset, while the base Pad 8 version is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform.
Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro have identical 11.2” IPS displays with 2.5K resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate, four built-in speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 protocols. For greater convenience, the tablets are compatible with a magnetic keyboard and the latest Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus.
In addition, the gadgets offer a number of innovations aimed at increasing productivity: support for vertical screen splitting, improved window switching, as well as a browser with full desktop function support. The devices are compatible with professional applications, including WPS Office, CAJViewer, and CAD programs.
Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are equipped with identical 9200 mAh batteries with support for 67W wired charging and have from 8/128 GB of memory. The younger model offers a 13 MP camera, while the older one has 50 MP.
The cost of the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro in Europe starts from €650, and the basic Pad 8 from €500.
