Casio Unveils Honda-Inspired Edifice Watch Celebrating 60 Years of F1 Victory in the US
The Japanese company Casio announced the start of sales in the US of a special version of the Casio Edifice ECB-2300HR-1A watch, created in collaboration with Honda. The model is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the brand's first victory in Formula 1 in 1965.
What is known
The watch is based on the Edifice Sospensione platform and features design elements inspired by the Honda RA272 racing car. The white leather strap with a red lining refers to Honda's racing livery, and the dial has red accents and automaker branding. The case dimensions are 50.2 × 45.8 × 11.8 mm, weight — 67 g.
The construction combines carbon, stainless steel, and resin. The model has 100 meters of water resistance and anti-reflective sapphire glass. It supports Neobrite illumination.
The watch operates on the Tough Solar system and supports Bluetooth connections via the Casio Watches app. Features include automatic time synchronization, world time for about 300 cities, stopwatch data transfer, and smartphone search. Also available are world time (38 time zones), a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 60-minute countdown timer, five daily alarms, a full auto-calendar until 2099, and an energy-saving mode.
The accuracy without a smartphone connection is stated to be ±15 seconds per month. The cost of the special version in the US is $400.
