Samsung showed a triple-folding S-Foldable display and a sliding screen, like the LG Rollable
The annual Display Week conference kicked off in San Jose, California, and Samsung Display is one of its active participants. This year was also not without new developments.
What was shown
Perhaps the most interesting exhibit was the 7.2-inch flexible display that folds into three parts. The manufacturer calls it S-Foldable, and it is most likely intended for folding tablets. In the folded state, this is a rather thick gadget, but still fits in your pocket, and when unfolded it is a full-fledged tablet with a large screen.
Samsung also showed a stretchable display that slides out in width. A similar solution is used by the foldable smartphone LG Rollable.
Another development of the company is a laptop display with a under-the-screen webcam. This is a 17'' OLED panel with thin bezels.
In addition, Samsung is working on a foldable laptop. It has a 17-inch 4: 3 panel that folds down in the middle.
