Dive into Cthulhu's Abyss: Horror Game Trailer Unveils Lost Expedition and Deep-Sea Monsters
The publisher Nacon, which is currently experiencing difficult times, and the studio Big Bad Wolf — creator of Vampire: The Masquerade — reminded about the upcoming release of the horror with investigation elements Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss and presented a moody storyline trailer.
What is Known
The game is a logical continuation of ideas from the pages of Howard F. Lovecraft's stories but transfers the story to the near future — the year 2053. Gamers will have to delve into the depths of the Pacific Ocean in search of missing miners and, as agent Noah alongside the AI assistant Ki, find out what is happening at the deep-sea station. The expedition immediately goes off track, eight team members perish, and the protagonist is left alone with terrifying monsters of the deep.
Players will need to solve puzzles, search for clues, explore the sunken city of R'lyeh, look for hints in closed or semi-open locations, and make choices that will affect not only the game world but also the characters. And, of course, face the ancient horror of Cthulhu.
When to Expect
The release of Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is scheduled for April 16 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Pre-orders are already open.
Anyone interested can purchase the R'lyeh Edition — an extended set of content that includes a bonus mission, a digital artbook, soundtrack, and an exclusive scenario for a tabletop game.
