Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Unveils Lavish Interior with Panoramic Roof and Jet-Style Controls
The Mercedes-AMG division has published the first images of the interior of the upcoming electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Judging by the design of the cabin, the model is largely inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept.
One of the key features of the center console is the three rotating turbine-style controllers. These allow control over pedal response (Response Control), vehicle agility in corners (Agility Control), and the nine-speed traction control system.
The cabin features a 10.2-inch digital dashboard and a 14-inch central touchscreen oriented toward the driver. An identical display for the front passenger will be available at an additional cost. The multimedia system runs on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System and offers several modes, including “AMG Special,” “AMG Track Pace” for racing data display, and “Classic.”
The carbon central console contains wireless charging pads and cup holders. In addition to standard sports seats with pronounced side support, AMG Performance seats with integrated headrests and decorative metal inserts will be available as options.
The AMG Performance steering wheel is equipped with a rotating controller, mode switch, and regeneration control paddles. Small displays showing suspension mode and driving mode are embedded in the lower buttons of the steering wheel.
The second row features two individual seats. Thanks to special recesses in the battery pack (“foot garages”), more legroom is provided. Alternatively, a three-seater rear bench is offered.
One of the unique options is the Sky Control panoramic glass roof. With the press of a button, it can become transparent or dark. At night, the glass can transform into a decorative panel with illuminated AMG logos and racing stripes. The features are complemented by ambient lighting and the Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with metallic speaker grille covers.
The information on the display also hints at technical characteristics. At an 81% charge level, the system shows an estimated range of about 630 km. Base versions of the model will have two electric motors, while the top model will feature three motors, similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept, with a power output of up to 1000 kW. The battery with a capacity of 114 kWh comprises cylindrical NCMA cells with liquid cooling. The charging power is claimed to reach 850 kW, promising a charge from 20 to 80% in about ten minutes.
The full presentation of the model is expected later this year.
