Stellantis Launches Global Quality Offensive: 2000 Engineers to Boost Car Reliability
Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa announced the launch of a 'global offensive campaign'. Its goal is to improve the reliability of vehicles and strengthen customer trust.
This initiative is being launched during a period of active lineup renewal. The company is preparing a large number of new models and updates for release, which is why it is undergoing internal reorganization to enhance quality control in the early stages of vehicle development.
According to Automotive News Europe, the company has hired more than 2000 engineers in recent months. A significant portion of the specialists are involved in testing, validation, and optimization of production processes. According to Filosa, this is part of a deep company reboot initiated last year following a series of operational difficulties related to past decisions.
Industry experts note that launching new models is one of the most challenging stages in terms of quality. In the coming years, Stellantis will have to prove that investment in engineering and production processes will indeed help improve vehicle reliability.
Stellantis is one of the world's largest automakers, formed in 2021 by the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. As of 2026, the corporation's portfolio includes 14 major automotive brands: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall.
In addition, the corporation is also developing a strategic partnership with the Chinese brand Leapmotor to sell their electric vehicles in global markets.
