YouTube Forces TV Users to Watch Unskippable 30-Second Ads: No Escape Without Premium

YouTube continues to systematically tighten the screws on users who don't want to see ads. The hosting has long bothered PC and mobile device users and even restricted access to comments when using ad blockers, and is now introducing another innovation that TV users will definitely not like.

What is known

Google has announced that the YouTube app for TVs will now show 30-second ads without the option to skip.

The Google AI system will provide personalized ads of various durations, alternating 6-second openings, 15-second, and even 30-second banners that everyone will have to watch. The only salvation from this is a Premium subscription.

Google justifies this decision by stating that the integration of “smart” advertising will allow brands to reach a wider audience and more effectively convey information about their products and services. But, as always, consumers suffer from this.
