FIFA Partners with YouTube for 2026 World Cup: Exclusive Match Clips and Live Action Teasers
FIFA announced a partnership with YouTube ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This is the second such agreement with streaming platforms — in January, the organization made an agreement with TikTok.
What is Known
This is not about full tournament broadcasting, but about expanding digital presence. According to FIFA, media partners will have the opportunity to broadcast select matches in full on YouTube, as well as show the first 10 minutes of each game live. This is expected to work as a "hook" for viewers, who then switch to traditional broadcasters.
Furthermore, partners will gain access to video from all angles of matches, allowing them to create additional content — highlights, analysis, and exclusive formats for digital platforms.
FIFA emphasizes that broadcasting rights remain a key source of revenue, so collaboration with streaming services should enhance attractiveness for broadcasters and expand audience reach.
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström stated that the partnership with YouTube will help make the tournament more accessible to fans worldwide and strengthen its presence in the digital environment.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 and will take place in 16 cities in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
