Death Stranding 2: On the Beach PC Launch Brings New Content, Creepy Cat, and Epic Visuals
Tomorrow — March 19 — marks the release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on PC. This will be a port of the highly acclaimed game by Hideo Kojima, which was released in June 2025 and is currently exclusive to PlayStation 5.
Soon after the Japanese game designer talked about the major content update that will accompany the PC release, Sony released a spectacular trailer that visualizes all the new features.
What's new in Death Stranding 2
On computers, the game supports all major controllers, is compatible with ultrawide monitors, and uses upscaling technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XESS 2. In addition to upscalers and frame generation, users will be offered Pico-scaling technology for the first time, which Guerrilla Games specifically developed for games on the Decima engine. It works on any graphics card and combines with available in-game frame generation methods.
As for the new content, the update includes many unusual elements, including the appearance of cinematic scenes with live actors that, for various reasons, had to be cut from the game, and the main character Sam will have even more phantasmagoric nightmares. The game will feature new equipment and a creepy cat in the protagonist's room.
Please note that the trailer contains many spoilers and hints at them
Hardcore gamers will be offered a new difficulty mode, To The Wilder, as well as the opportunity to replay bosses, including with Neil.
On PS5, a 21:9 Ultrawide mode will be added, making Death Stranding 2 even more cinematic.
