Crimson Desert Sells 2 Million Copies in First 24 Hours Amid Mixed Reviews and Stock Drop
Less than a day has passed since the release of the ambitious action RPG Crimson Desert, and the Korean studio Pearl Abyss has a reason to rejoice and simultaneously a good news for its investors, who experienced great stress from yesterday's 30% stock price drop amid the publications of ambiguous reviews by critics.
Not all is bad
The developers reported that Crimson Desert sales reached 2 million copies in the first day.
Obviously, this is the result of a large-scale advertising campaign and hype around the game, which showed it in the best light and prompted gamers to pre-order. Pearl Abyss studio thanked the public for their great interest in its novelty and promised to improve all elements of the game.
This thesis is important because both critics and gamers express mixed impressions regarding the game: it is beautiful and large-scale, but superficial, drawn-out, and boring for many. Furthermore, Crimson Desert suffers from numerous bugs.
You can personally familiarize yourself with the game on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
