Jeff Kaplan's New Game 'The Legend of California' Opens Alpha Testing Next Week: How to Join the Adventure
Last week, Kintsugiyama studio, founded by Blizzard veteran and creator of the famous online shooter Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, announced the game The Legend of California, whose events will unfold at the beginning of the "gold rush," when prospectors from all over the world flocked to California in the hope that they would be the ones to strike it rich.
This will be a multiplayer first-person shooter with survival elements. You can play solo or in a group of up to four people.
At the announcement, the developers did not reveal the release date, only stating that The Legend of California will be released in early access this year only on Steam and Epic Games Store. However, it turns out that the first players will be able to try Kaplan's new project as early as next week.
Invitation to California
The developers at Kintsugiyama announced a public alpha test of The Legend of California, which will take place from March 26 to 30. Anyone can apply on the game's Steam page and wait for an invitation, but it should be noted that the number of spots will be limited, and participants will be selected randomly.
Those who do not make it to the testing will be able to participate in the larger beta testing planned for the summer.
It has been announced that players can try out the basic mechanics of The Legend of California both in solo mode and in co-op up to four people.

Recall, in The Legend of California, gamers will find themselves in a dangerous territory where lawlessness reigns and all issues are resolved through weapons. As in most games of this genre, in The Legend of California, it's necessary to monitor the character's condition, gather and prepare food, find and create useful items, build dwellings, both temporary and permanent, hunt animals, and defend against bandits. At any moment, you can try to attack other players' camps, but you need to be prepared for serious resistance, and preparing for such an event will be aided by PvE challenges with various rewards.
