Marvel Rivals Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2: What This Means for Superhero Gamers

Marvel Rivals is one of the rare examples of a successful service game.

Despite the huge competition in the online action/shooter market, NetEase managed not only to release a quality game but also to maintain stable interest in it. This is facilitated by the huge number of various heroes in the Marvel universe, a smart approach to gameplay, and regular content updates (revealing costumes also add hype).

The developers have long promised to port Marvel Rivals to Nintendo Switch 2, but stated they were unsure if it could be done due to technical limitations.

They will do it

In an interview with IGN, Marvel Rivals executive producer Danny Koo confirmed that his team is already working on porting the game to Nintendo Switch 2. There are no serious obstacles to this, but the developers cannot yet name specific release dates.

We are working on it, and as soon as we have news, we will definitely inform you...

Don’t expect a mobile version

The producer was asked the logical question of whether there are plans for versions of Marvel Rivals on iOS or Android, and Koo gave a clear answer:

No, Marvel Rivals will not be released on mobile devices, at least not in the near future.

The main reason is the specifics of touch control: Marvel Rivals is not optimized for it. However, theoretically, there is nothing to prevent releasing a similar game but created specifically for smartphones.

Currently, Marvel Rivals is available on PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series.
