Samsung has announced two new budget A-series smartphones: Galaxy A22 and Galaxy A22 5G.

What we know

At first glance, the new items are very similar, but in fact, they have many differences. So, Galaxy A22 5G is equipped with a 6.6-inch IPS screen. It has FHD + resolution, 90Hz frequency and a teardrop notch for the 8MP front camera. The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chip paired with 4/6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of ROM. If desired, the drive can be expanded with a microSD memory card. The device also received a triple main camera without OIS support at 48 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP (depth sensor).

As for Galaxy A22, it, first of all, does not support 5G. In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a 6.4-inch screen with HD + resolution and a 90 Hz AMOLED matrix. The device also features a simpler MediaTek Helio G80 chip, no microSD slot, a 13-megapixel front camera and a main camera with four modules. The main sensor received a resolution of 48 MP and support for OIS. It is complemented by an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a macro lens with the same resolution.

Both smartphones come with 5,000mAh batteries, 15W PSUs and side fingerprint scanners. Whether there is NFC in the new products is unknown.

Price and when to expect

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G will start selling in Europe in July at the price of 230 euros. As the price and release date of the other item, the company will announce a little later.
