The roguelike game Mewgenics from the creator of the cult The Binding of Isaac, Edmund McMillen, was released on PC on February 10 and captivated the audience. Players are invited to breed creepy cats by crossing suitable genes to obtain the most combat-effective specimens, but the animals turn out to be unpredictable and have unique features, both positive and negative.

Console users would definitely be happy to get acquainted with Mewgenics and soon they will have such an opportunity.

What is known

Edmund McMillen excited gamers with a short video showing Mewgenics gameplay on the Nintendo Switch 2 portable console. He didn't say when the respective port would be released, but it's evident that the wait won't be long.

In response to his post, McMillen's colleague and producer of his previous game, The Binding of Isaac, Tyrone Rodriguez humorously added that Mewgenics ... is preparing to debut on the PlayStation 5 as well! He also refrained from specific dates, and most likely, both console versions will be released on the same day.

There's no good news for Xbox users yet, but it's unlikely that Mewgenics won't visit this platform as well.

Just a few days after the release, game sales exceeded the one million copies mark, and gamers and critics praised it for its colossal replayability and nearly endless variety of cats.
