Sony announced a new lineup of BRAVIA 3 II (2026) TVs — a mid-range model that replaces the not-so-successful BRAVIA 3 and makes a noticeable step forward in functionality, especially for gamers and home cinema enthusiasts.

Main features

The updated model in the series for the first time received an LCD panel with 4K resolution and a frame rate of 120Hz. The XR chip is used as the processor with XR Triluminos Pro and XR Clear Image technology for enhanced picture quality.

The novelty supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X standards, and the Google TV platform with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit integration provides access to all popular streaming services and applications.

Four HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K/120, VRR, and ALLM support are provided for convenient connectivity.

BRAVIA 3 II is available in a wide range of diagonals — 43, 50, 55, 65, 75, 85, and 100 inches.

Focus on gaming

One of the key features of the BRAVIA 3 II is its focus on gaming capabilities. Full support for PlayStation 5 and other consoles is provided, all HDMI ports comply with the 2.1 standard (a rarity even for expensive models), and the 120Hz refresh rate makes gameplay as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Compromises

Despite the improvements, the TV remains a budget-mid-range solution. To reduce the price, Sony did not equip the novelty with local dimming, and the LCD screen is significantly inferior to Mini LED or OLED displays in its capabilities.

Release date and price

The sales launch is expected in the spring of 2026, likely in May. The model is aimed at the European and US markets. In some countries, for example, in the UK, the launch may be delayed due to application certification.

The price is expected to range from $600 to 3100 depending on the chosen diagonal.
