Bethesda has announced the end of support and shutdown of servers for the free-to-play mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Blades, which was released in 2020 on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch.

The game did not achieve commercial success and was criticized by most franchise fans for overall redundancy, weak gameplay mechanics, and aggressive monetization.

What is known

Developers announced that on June 30, The Elder Scrolls: Blades servers will be shut down, and the game has already been removed from the App Store, Google Play, and Nintendo eShop, so new players will no longer be able to install it.

To end the story on a positive note, Bethesda offered players free access to the Gems and Sigils content pack, and all items in the in-game store are now sold for one unit of virtual currency.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades adapted Skyrim's combat system for mobile devices and offered to explore dungeons, fighting various enemies, and between outings, players could spend obtained resources on settlement development.
