Xiaomi Unveils Budget-Friendly Mijia Fridges: Prices Rival Cheap Smartphones, Up to 216L Capacity

Xiaomi has introduced two affordable refrigerator models under the Mijia brand, whose price is comparable to the most budget smartphones.

What is Known

The senior Mijia 216L model received a two-door design and is priced at approximately $140. The more compact version, Mijia 186L with two doors, costs about $125.

The 186-liter model offers a classic layout: 129 liters occupy the refrigerator compartment, and another 57 liters — the freezer compartment. The device is equipped with pull-out drawers and an electronic temperature control system with several modes. Also declared are a high energy efficiency class and low noise level — around 36 dB.

The 216-liter version features an additional middle zone for so-called "soft freezing." The total volume is distributed as follows: 129 liters — refrigerator chamber (2–8 °C), 30 liters — intermediate compartment with a temperature from −7 to 0 °C, and 57 liters — full freezer with a range down to −24 °C.

Both models are targeted at the mass segment and offer basic functions without frills, focusing on an affordable price and practicality. Currently, the models are only available in China on the JD platform, with no information on a global launch yet.
