MINOS Launches Next Week: Dive into the Mythical Roguelite Adventure of the Minotaur's Deadly Labyrinth

The publisher Devolver Digital and the studio Artificer announced the release date of MINOS — a promising game with elements of puzzles, strategy, and roguelike, which by its concept resembles the cult Dungeon Keeper by Peter Molyneux, but is set in the ancient Greek mythology setting.

What is known

The main character of MINOS will be the legendary Minotaur, who is unhappy that adventurers constantly infiltrate his lair to kill him and cover themselves with glory. Therefore, he begins to set clever traps, complex mazes, and other obstacles.

Since this is a roguelike, or rather its lighter version — roguelite, each playthrough is unique, and the structure of the lair and the placement of traps also change, as does the composition of enemy squads. The main game mechanic will be creating combinations of traps that create a chain reaction, for example, a warrior activates a pressure plate → boulders fall → spikes emerge from the walls → the floor is covered with lava. If everything is done correctly, the player gets extra points.

The developers promise an interesting storyline related to the Minotaur and his origin and to tell how the meeting with Theseus will end when he reaches the monster.

When to expect

The release of MINOS will take place next week — April 9th only on Steam.
