OpenAI Acquires Popular Tech Show TBPN to Boost AI Awareness and Innovation

OpenAI regularly announces large-scale investments and even buys tech startups, but today is a special case, as Sam Altman's company is showing interest in a media project for the first time and has purchased the online show Technology Business Programming Network (TBPN).

What is known

TBPN airs daily on YouTube and X/Twitter channels with three-hour streams, and is hosted by successful startup creators John Coogan and Jordi Gais.

The main topics of the show are artificial intelligence, the latest technologies, and business, sometimes discussing the latest armaments. This is a popular project, whose guests have included Mark Zuckerberg, Satya Nadella, Marc Benioff, and Sam Altman, who apparently liked the podcast format so much that he decided to buy it.

OpenAI promises to maintain TBPN's full freedom, including on issues of criticism of its actions and the overall situation in the AI market, however, the company plans to use the platform to introduce the general public to AI technologies and popularize them.

In turn, the hosts hope that they can move from simply commenting on the news to forming a global vision of AI.

TBPN will continue to operate as a separate media project, but its activities will be overseen by OpenAI Vice President of Global Policy Chris Lehane.
