Finally, important news about State of Decay 3 has arrived!

Let us recall, Undead Labs studio and Microsoft loudly announced the new installment of the zombie series back in 2020, and since then, the developers have remained almost completely silent, which initially fueled interest, but then led fans to despair, although insiders stated that "the game looks excellent".

Now the authors have reached out to the community with an important message.

Zombies rise

The head of State of Decay 3 development, Brant Fitzgerald, recorded a video in which he announced that public alpha testing of the action game will start soon, and anyone can apply on the special site to participate.

Fitzgerald noted that the team carefully analyzes all feedback on State of Decay 2 and is attempting to create as high-quality a sequel as possible, but admitted that not all of their ideas turn out successful and asked interested gamers to help shape the perfect vision of the game.

Why it took so long

In the same video, the game director noted that creating State of Decay 3 takes so much time because most of the team has been focused on supporting the previous installment all these years, while the new game was developed by dozens of specialists. He understands that the process has been delayed but reassured that the work will accelerate now.

Brant Fitzgerald mentioned that the new game is primarily designed for a comprehensive cooperative mode and recommends test participants find a partner for survival in the zombie apocalypse.

When to expect

The release dates for State of Decay 3 remain unknown, but it is quite possible that the game will be released in 2027. It was announced for PC and Xbox Series, but considering Microsoft's new strategy, there is little doubt that PlayStation users will also get the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of zombies.
