Frostpunk 2 Unleashes Volcanic Chaos: New DLC Breach of Trust Adds Intense Challenges
The Polish studio 11 Bit shared important news about the content support for the post-apocalyptic strategy Frostpunk 2 — not only it is not stopping, but it is also becoming more extensive.
It will get hot in the frosty wasteland
The main announcement was the second story expansion Breach of Trust, which will be released on June 23 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
The DLC events will unfold in the city of New Edinburgh, located at the foot of an active volcano. Now, in addition to frost, political instability, and hunger, players need to constantly consider the possibility of an eruption and be prepared to make difficult decisions.
The Old Captain is overthrown, and the ground in the city is trembling, so it's time for you to take control as the First Citizen. But be careful: periodic confidence votes will be a real test of your rating. And when unrest begins and volcanic ash covers the sky, the only safe haven will be a neighboring colony located on the frozen lake.
The expansion will offer five new communities with unique ideologies and goals, additional dangers, random events, laws, as well as two scenario maps and five new buildings and centers to strengthen the city's infrastructure.
A little more news
Simultaneously with the release of Breach of Trust, Frostpunk 2 will also receive a major content update.
In addition, the developers reported that Frostpunk's audience has reached 11 million players and a significant increase in the community of fans is expected soon, as the first part of the series will be released on the portable Nintendo Switch console (1 and 2).
In honor of the aforementioned announcements, 11 bit offers significant discounts on Steam for both parts of Frostpunk and their additions, and also reminded that a full-fledged remake of the first part with the subtitle '1886' is in development.
