The new head of Microsoft Gaming, Asha Sharma, continues to take actions that win public approval. She has already closed the controversial "It's All Xbox" ad campaign, as well as announced the next-generation console Project Helix.

Now Asha Sharma has introduced an update to the "Achievements" interface in the Xbox ecosystem.

What is known

The company updated the icons, animations, design, and notifications for receiving achievements — now they adapt to the user-chosen Xbox interface color.

Moreover, Microsoft added the ability to hide individual games in the achievements section on a player's profile — this will not affect the user's position in the overall Gamerscore leaderboard or their stats but will help to personalize their page in detail and show only what they want to display.

Those who love 100% completions will be especially pleased that fully completed games will now be clearly marked in the overall achievements list, and new filters will help quickly find the most thorough and successful players.

Currently, all innovations are available to Xbox Insider program participants, but Microsoft will invite additional testers soon after which the update will become publicly available. Initial feedback on the updated "Achievements" is overwhelmingly positive.

Microsoft emphasizes that this is just the beginning of changes, and the company will further develop the achievements system to encourage gamer activity.
