The MyMobiles portal, together with renowned insider Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks), published exclusive CAD renders of the new Samsung foldable flagship — the Galaxy Z Flip 8, expected to be unveiled in July at the summer Galaxy Unpacked event.

Focus on Compactness

According to OnLeaks, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be noticeably sleeker than its predecessor. The main change affects the device's thickness when closed.

Dimensions of Galaxy Z Flip 8:

  • unfolded: 166.8 x 75.4 x 6.6 mm
  • folded: 85.4 x 75.4 x 13.2 mm

For comparison, the current Z Flip 7 has a thickness of 13.7 mm when folded. Samsung managed to "trim" 0.5 mm, making the smartphone even more convenient to carry in pockets. Meanwhile, the overall dimensions of the body in the unfolded state remain almost identical.

Displays and Cameras

The renders confirm that Samsung decided to stick with a proven formula: the external screen will again have a diagonal of 4.1", and the internal one — 6.9". The dual main camera module with an LED flash on the external panel will also remain unchanged.

Visually, the Z Flip 8 is almost indistinguishable from the Z Flip 7. It seems that in 2026, Samsung is focusing not on a radical change of image but on ergonomics and internal components.

MyMobiles emphasizes that these renders are based on internal CAD drawings. They are as accurate as possible in size but may not account for minor details such as the final thickness of the frames, the location of the SIM card tray, or color solutions.

When to Expect

Although the official release date is not part of this leak, Samsung's schedule in recent years remains unchanged. It is most likely that the announcement will be made on July 7-9, with sales starting on July 22-25, 2026, simultaneously with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the brand new Galaxy Wide Fold, which will become the main competitor of the iPhone Ultra.
