Sony Unveils Ultra-Light INZONE H6 Air: Studio-Grade Gaming Headphones with Open Acoustic Design

Sony has expanded its INZONE gaming peripheral line by unveiling the new wired headset INZONE H6 Air. The main feature of the novelty is the open acoustic design — a first in this series — and impressively low weight.

Professional Sound in Gaming Format

The key advantage of the H6 Air is its drivers, created based on Sony MDR-MV1 professional studio monitor headphones. Engineers adapted them for gaming needs while preserving a natural and wide soundstage.

Thanks to the perforated aluminum grilles on the cups, the sound is free of undesired reflections inside the case. This makes spatial positioning more accurate, and the sound 'airy.' Support for Sony's proprietary spatial sound (360 Spatial Sound) and PlayStation Studios profiles allows players to clearly determine the direction of footsteps or shots in games.

Record Lightness and Comfort

Sony focuses on long gaming sessions. The INZONE H6 Air weighs only 199 grams (excluding the microphone), making them one of the lightest headphones in their class — this effect was achieved by using aluminum and quality plastic.

The headband with spring hinges is borrowed from the flagship model H9 II, while the ear pads are made of soft, breathable material that prevents ear overheating when combined with the open design.

Technical Specifications and Connectivity

The headset is fully wired, which eliminates sound delays and the need for recharging. It features a removable cardioid microphone on a boom with AI-based noise cancellation. Connection is via a classic 3.5-mm jack or the included USB-C Audio Box. The latter provides access to advanced equalizer settings and sound through the INZONE Hub software on a PC.

Price and Availability

Sony INZONE H6 Air has already gone on sale in the USA and Europe at a recommended price of $/€199. The model is available in classic black.
