For the 25th anniversary Tamagotchi has been re-released as a Smart watch - meet Tamagotchi Smart for $60
Back in 1996, the first Tamagotchi, a virtual pet, appeared in the form of a game for Nintendo's Game Boy handheld console. Now, for its 25th anniversary, Bandai has re-released the Tamagotchi as a smartwatch.
What it is
It looks like an ordinary watch for children - bright colors, a large plastic case and a small touch screen. The principle is the same: the owner has to take care of his pet, but now the touch screen allows you to caress it, and thanks to speakers and a microphone Tamagotchi can make sounds, attracting attention, and respond to your voice.
A TamaSma card slot is provided, with which you can load exclusive characters and items.
The gadget also borrowed some functions from a smart watch - it shows the time, can count steps and play music.
Price
In Japan, the Tamagotchi Smart will go on sale this fall with a price of $60.
