Apple Faces Component Shortages: Touchscreen MacBook and New Mac Studio Delayed Until Late 2027
As we have already reported, even such a giant as Apple suffers from a shortage of RAM and some other components necessary for the production of modern gadgets.
Recently, the company restricted sales of Mac mini and Mac Studio in the US, but as Bloomberg reports, this is just the beginning of the forced decisions of the American corporation.
What is known
In the latest issue of the weekly news digest Power On, authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman shared information that corrects his previous insights, according to which the first MacBook with a touch screen, which will become part of the premium Ultra line, will be on sale at the end of 2026 or early 2027.
Now Gurman expects that due to the shortage of chips, such a laptop will be released only by the end of 2027 and is likely to be even more expensive than expected.
The same situation is with the new all-in-one Mac Studio, which should receive M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips. The release of the novelty was planned for mid-2026, but according to the insider, Apple is now aiming for October. The problem with Mac Studio is also that they are often purchased for local AI model deployment, and since this area is experiencing rapid growth, this is an additional factor in the shortage of these devices.
Other Apple developments are not yet affected by the crisis, but it cannot be ruled out that they too will be delayed on the way to customers.
