ASUS is preparing to return to the tablet market with a new ambitious device under the concise name ASUS Pad — such information was shared by the authoritative portal Android Headlines, which published several renders of the upcoming novelty, promising to compete with flagships from Samsung and Apple.

Premium Design and Next-Generation Display

ASUS Pad will feature an impressive 12.2” Tandem OLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, potentially making it an interesting novelty for mobile gaming enthusiasts.

According to the renders, the tablet is equipped with very thin and symmetrical bezels around the entire perimeter. The housing is made of metal, while the side edges have a slight rounding. Despite the impressive size, the gadget turned out to be quite elegant: its thickness is only 6.5 mm, and it weighs 523 grams.

Technical Features

On the rear panel, there is a compact camera island with a single lens and LED flash. Among other confirmed characteristics:

  • 9,000 mAh battery with fast charging support;
  • stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support;
  • the body will be made of high-quality aluminum alloy.

The processor is still unknown, but considering that the ASUS Pad will clearly claim the status of a flagship tablet, one should expect the presence of a powerful chip up to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or an equivalent processor from another manufacturer.

Multifunctional Stand

According to Android Headlines, ASUS will offer a range of accessories for its flagship tablet. The transparent plastic case with an innovative multifunctional origami-type stand is currently confirmed. It allows the tablet to be fixed at various angles in both horizontal and vertical positions, and when closed, it protects the screen.

When to Expect

The exact date of the official announcement and the price of the ASUS Pad are not yet disclosed, but the leak of press renders indicates that the presentation will take place very soon.
