X Platform Shakes Things Up: "Communities" Tab Disappearing Due to Lack of Interest

Social network X experiences another change, but this time users are not offered new features, instead, they are informed about the deletion of the old one.

Head of products at X, Nikita Bier, informed users that on May 30, the 'Community' tab will disappear from the platform. This option represents an alternative to thematic forums, where people can create interest groups.

As Bier noted, 'Communities' seemed like a great idea, but they were absolutely unclaimed. According to him, the option was used only for sending spam and financial machinations, and only 0.4% of X users opened this tab.

Before the specified date, 'Community' administrators will be able to transfer discussions to the new XChat messenger, which, by the way, recently appeared on iOS.

'Communities' were fully integrated into X in 2023 and were supposed to become one of the central parts of the platform, but the public turned out not to be interested in it.
