Samsung Galaxy Glasses leaked: two models, starting at $379

Samsung's first smart glasses are taking shape — and they're priced to go head-to-head with Meta's Ray-Ban line. Android Headlines has published the first renders and a detailed spec sheet for the Galaxy Glasses, revealing two models at different price points and a launch window tied to major events later this year. Meta currently controls around 82% of the global smart glasses market, per CNBC, so Samsung is entering a space with a clear dominant player.

Two models

Samsung is developing two distinct versions under the Galaxy Glasses name. The entry model, codenamed Jinju, skips a built-in display and is expected to launch first, priced between $379 and $499. A more advanced version, codenamed Haean, adds a micro-LED display and is not expected until 2027, with a price tag between $600 and $900.

The Jinju is where most consumers will start. It's built around voice interaction and AI, primarily through Google's Gemini assistant. The glasses can translate text in real time, assist with navigation via Google Maps, answer on-demand queries, and take photos.

The specs

Both models share the same core hardware, according to the leak. They run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chip, use a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera sensor, and weigh around 50 grams — light enough to wear all day. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. The lenses are photochromic, meaning they darken automatically in sunlight. Audio is handled by directional speakers or bone conduction. Battery capacity is listed at 155mAh, though some certification filings suggest the figure may be higher.

The software runs on Android XR, Google's platform built for augmented reality devices, with Gemini AI baked in. One practical limitation: full functionality requires a Samsung Galaxy phone. That ecosystem lock-in could be a sticking point for Android users outside Samsung's hardware lineup.

Frames and availability

Samsung is collaborating with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster on the frame designs, confirms Android Central. Availability in the US is expected through Best Buy, Amazon, and carrier partners by late Q3 2026.

The official reveal is expected either at Google I/O in May 2026 or at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in July or August. No exact date has been confirmed yet.
