Motorola Razr 70 lineup arrives in three tiers — base, Plus, and Ultra

Motorola has officially launched three Razr 70 flip phones at once — the base Razr 70, a new Plus model, and the flagship Ultra — with UK prices running from £799.99 to £1,199.99, per T3. Global sales begin May 21, 2026. That puts the entire lineup in direct competition with Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7, which sits in the £899–£1,099 range.

The base Razr 70

The entry-level Razr 70 gets the biggest visible upgrade over its predecessor: a 3.63-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED external display running at 90 Hz, large enough to run most apps without unfolding the phone. Inside, Motorola uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chip with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The battery grows to 4,800 mAh — a meaningful bump — and the phone ships with Android 16 out of the box.

Three PANTONE colorways are available at launch. At £799.99, it undercuts the Z Flip 7 by roughly £100, though the previous-generation Razr 60 Ultra has already been discounted to around £799 at some retailers, which complicates the value case.

The Plus — a first for Europe

The Razr 70 Plus is the most interesting addition to the lineup. The Razr+ was a North America exclusive in 2025; this year Motorola is rolling it out globally for the first time. It shares the same 4-inch external display as the Ultra, so the two models look nearly identical when closed. The chip steps down to a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 — still capable of handling any app — and the battery comes in at 4,500 mAh with 45W charging.

Camera hardware includes a 50 MP main sensor (the same unit as the Ultra) paired with a 13 MP ultrawide with macro support. The back panel uses an eco-leather finish with a suede-like texture in PANTONE Mountain View. UK pricing for the Plus hasn't been officially confirmed; retailers point toward £1,000. Whether Currys, Vodafone, and EE will all stock it remains to be seen.

AI features and the Ultra gap

All three phones run Moto AI, which adds real-time spoken translation displayed across both screens simultaneously and an automatic video-to-Stories feature that edits clips from your day. These software additions are the clearest differentiator against the Z Flip 7.

The Razr 70 Ultra tops the range at £1,199.99. It swaps in a Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 5,000 mAh battery with 68W charging, and three 50 MP cameras — including a LOFIC sensor designed for low-light shooting. Critics have noted, per Notebookcheck, that the Ultra carries over the same Snapdragon 8 Elite from last year's model, making the price increase harder to justify for existing Razr 60 Ultra owners.
