Qualcomm introduced the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888+ processor, an upscaled version of the Snapdragon 888 with several improvements
Today, on the opening day of MWC 2021, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 888+ mobile processor, which is an upscaled version of the Snapdragon 888.
What has changed
In fact, there are not so many differences from the Snapdragon 888, or rather, there are only two of them. Firstly, the maximum frequency of the most productive Cortex-X1 core has increased from 2.84 GHz to 2.995 GHz. Secondly, the performance of the Qualcomm AI Engine, which is responsible for accelerating artificial intelligence tasks, has increased from 26 to 32 trillion operations per second.
The rest remains unchanged: 5nm technology, 5G Snapdragon X60 modem, Adreno 660 GPU, Spectra 580 digital signal processor, FastConnect 6900 wireless module and support for Quick Charge 5 fast charging.
The first commercial smartphones based on the Snapdragon 888+ will debut in the third quarter of this year.
